and it's sunday night..

I'm so glad to finally be home right now. I was recently hired by Western Michigan University to play for a production called "Once upon this Island." It's a pretty neat show, I get to play a lot of calypso style music that also has a lot of really cool percussion behind it. The percussion is supplied by a good friend of mine (phenomenal jazz drummer at western...) so it's a lot of fun working together. On the downside, I've had to play in kalamazoo for the last 10 nights in the row, and the commute gets exhausting after a while. I get a couple nights off this week then it's right back at it to finish the run and move on to the next gig...

Some other excellent news... I just found out this weekend that I'll be making a trip to Chicago to play at a blues club owned by the very renound blues artist, Buddy Guy. I'm very excited about this as I've been trying to get into the Chicago scene for quite some time. This should happen in the next three or four weeks. I can't wait! I love playing the blues more than anything, and Buddy Guy himself will be there watching- maybe he will say hi or something hehe. Never a dull moment.

So, time to crash in my own bed for a change- tomorrow I have to venture back into the real world for a little bit... looking forward to it- not really. Good night ;)

Intro

Hello all, here's the rundown: Just about every night of the week, I pack up my things and head out on the road somewhere for a new adventure with my guitar. Over the last decade, being a musician has brought me some of the best times of my life. There have been a lot of sacrifices, a lot of stress and a lot of long long nights- but to me it's all worth it. So I intend to tell a few stories here, reflect on some things, and share some current stuff going on. Feel free to chime in with any thoughts on music in general because I love talking about it.

Good day,
ed
